The morphology of the caves of Lanzarote whilst sharing many features typical in the formation of lava tubes also have some very unique deposits. These are noticeably the copious amounts of a fine white or fawn powdery substance gypsum, found scattered throughout many of the caves in very large quantities, often many feet thick.
